COVID-19 and Diabetes - Prevalence and Prognosis: A Single-Center Experience

Aim: We aimed to investigate the prevalence of diabetes in COVID-19 patients and effect on course disease. Material Methods: Patients diagnosed with disease Istanbul Sancaktepe Martyr Prof. Dr. Ilhan Varank Training Research Hospital between 01/06/2020 30/10/2020 were included study. Medical records analyzed from hospital information management system. examined medical history, PCR test results, blood computerised tomography reports, hospitalization treatment results. Results: 2414 patients, 1145 females 1269 males The whole group was 18.6%. rate admission intensive care unit significantly higher diabetics than non-diabetics. In diabetic group; total length stay significiantly higher. presence pneumonia diabetics. mortality Conclusion: found be thorax CT, diabetes. Diabetes mellitus may lead worse clinical outcomes patients. more mortal
